I will have the great opportunity to talk about "Opportunities and Limitations of the Circular Economy" @Urban October, a webinar organized by GIZ and Katharina Lange. In the webinar, titled "Perceptions and Systems of Urban Waste - Changing behaviors towards circularity beyond awareness campaigns", I will talk about the systemic impossibilities of implementing a circular economy or even an EPR circular economy as long as local waste and recycling practices and all stakeholders are taken into account. In addition, I will demonstrate how a practices-based approach to urban waste problems is more effective than focusing only on the "material" side.
I will also introduce the newly formed DFG-funded Waste in Motion network, of which I am a member.
